Life is about making memories, and I'm fortunate to be involved in a hobby that values and preserves them. I'm hoping this blog will be another tool in recording the big and little things in our lives.
My best friend Wayne and I are about to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary...that's a lot of good memories. During those years our family circle has grown beyond our sons, Brad and Eric, to include a daughter-in-law, Melissa, and a very special granddaughter, Kayla.
Thirty years ago we packed everything we owned into a Ryder truck and moved to the Florida panhandle, leaving behind our stunned family and friends. The job was too appealing to pass up, and we reasoned we could return to Kansas in three years if we didn't like it. We're still here. And despite the hurricanes, I love the South.
We're retired now...at least from jobs with a steady paycheck. We're making new memories with our travels, both near and far. We're a great team--Wayne does the planning and I just ride along and enjoy it. A mutual love of photography and my passion for scrapbooking make it easy to re-live these wonderful adventures.
I never expected my hobby to play such a big role in my life, but it has. From opening the first scrapbook store on the Gulf Coast almost ten years ago to an opportunity to work for Creating Keepsakes Magazine, I've been so blessed. It has brought such wonderful and talented people into my life.
Family, friends, the beauty of nature...those are some of the things important to me and from which my memories are made. Thanks for taking a peak into my world.
