My days right now are filled with cooking, cleaning, wrapping and getting ready...I'm sure yours are, too. And while I thought the shopping portion was done, we found ourselves among the hordes waiting their turn for the cashier again this afternoon.
That's why I wanted to promote Erin Lincoln's clever idea for a cute gift you could make quickly and easily...and just as importantly, very economically. Erin created a Christmas-y home decor item using scrapbook supplies and an inexpensive black frame, like one you'd find at a dollar store. She used six equal blocks of coordinating paper for the background, then topped them with fun little Christmas trees decorated with buttons. You can see her project here. So cute and so simple...great for a hostess gift or handy to have around when you're caught needing a little something and have no time to shop.
And one good idea usually leads to another. My friend Amy put her own spin on the project, using a variety of Christmas images punched into circles. Here's the link to her little work of art...it's inspired by Erin's original but totally different.
And if, like me, there's no time left in your schedule in the next few days for even a quick project, file this idea away for later as I can see lots of possibilities here. Valentines Day will be upon us before you know it and it would be easy to adapt either of these designs for hearts. Or with flowers/butterflies for Mother's Day. Or red-white-and-blue stars for summer. You get the idea.
I love this idea - I have to check in with Erin more often because I always like what she's got up her sleeve.
