It was a busy day, but then Mondays usually are. Clothes to wash, a house to clean, a walk to take...the day's routine doesn't vary much.
But this Monday had a little different spin. Oh, we still walked...first thing this morning as a matter of fact. And all last week's dirty clothes are now fresh and sweet-smelling again. I short-circuited the housework, however, cleaning only the kitchen and master bath. I cleaned the garage instead.
It's one of those jobs that's been floating around in the virtual job jar for a while but there was always something more important, more pressing in terms of needing to be done. We'd cleaned it in the spring so it wasn't as if there was lots to sort through and throw away; that hard work was already done. It just needed a thorough vacuuming and a bit of rearranging.
So that's what I did this afternoon. Gone are the leaves that blow in when the doors are open, the grass clippings that come off the mowers and our shoes, and the spider webs that hide in the corners. Things are back where they belong or, in some instances, in new homes in the hopes the arrangement will be a better one.
And when I finished, it looked like this (although not quite so overexposed in the late afternoon sun):
Well, it's a little more crowded now with the truck, car, mower and golf cart back inside but still a nice improvement.
The leaves and grass will blow in again and the cobwebs will return too, but on this Monday a slightly different part of the house benefited from the cleaning routine. The same but different.
Wahoo, looks great! Here's to clean garages.
