Monday, Monday, Monday. It's a busy day around here, especially today. We had things going on both days of the weekend and never made it to the store, and since I finished off the orange juice, milk, oatmeal and bread all in one meal this morning, going to the store was kind of essential. So it was shop for groceries, clean the house and do the laundry.
I'm a creature of habit when it comes to washing clothes...the loads go in the same order every week. And I've finally figured out it's better if I wash Wayne's heavy socks in with the jeans. After tromping around in the woods, they're often gross and sometimes have remnants of nature hiding in them, the perfect companion to jeans that are usually in the same condition.
But I had to laugh when I folded the next-to-the-last load today. I knew there was a sock missing from the jeans load. No big deal; I have a front loading washing machine and it's easy to overlook a sock or something small stuck to the top of the drum after the final spin. It'll be there at the end of the next load. In this case, however, the next load was socks and underwear...you know, the load that gets the bleach.
The once-brown sock is now...orange. Too bad Halloween is over. I felt bad...well, sorta. Bad enough I picked all the burrs out. Maybe next week I throw the still-brown one in with the bleached socks so he'll have a matching pair.
Why, it looks like a lovely pair of autumn socks to me! ;-)

I agree with MilliD - just call these autumn socks and create a new trend!

I think bleaching the other sock would be a great idea, that color is really nice.
I've taken to giving the drum on our front loader an extra spin to catch any strays that have gotten stuck somehow. *Ü*
