I think that I shall never see
Leaves cleaner than my lemon tree.
A tree from scale's grasp I will wrest
And rid it of black sooty mess.
Toothbrush in hand I've scrubbed all day
As "bug drugs" only made some go away.
Washed high, washed, low, washed here, washed there
Every leaf, every branch, every twig, everywhere.
The chore took patience more than brains
And now I'm ready to spray again.
I hope it works, we'll have to see
If it will cure my lemon tree.
