Love your storage room! Not an option at my house, only 1 bathroom. It reminds me of those decorating shows that go into New York apartments that are the size of some master walk-in closets and the residents don't cook so the kitchen space is used as a closet. Shoes/boots in the oven and all manner of strange things shoved in the cabinets. My house has had 2 leaks, thankfully not either in the roof. Kitchen leaked right into laundry sink below and basement floods (yes twice within about 6 weeks of each other). Kitchen drain now has better plumbing and basement is better organized with lest junk, water problems can cause good things! Enjoy the fresh paint!

Me - I'm a "slap it on and get on with life" type painter; Hubby never touches a paint brush. My brother...... they once had to get their sitting room plastered. The finish was silky smooth, but he still sanded it all; then did a first coat and sanded it down; then came the three top coats - yup! all sanded down. Then he had to do all the woodwork; all sanded down between coats! This was going into our winter. My poor sister-in-law! I'd have killed him and got a painter in! :-) Starting in something like September they finally got back into the room the week before Christmas.... :-D It did look perfect though - maybe too perfect for me. Ad how can we be brother and sister! lol. Jude.x

And here I thought the shower was a new attempt at multi-tasking!

When you posted that you were getting the ceiling fixed, I didn't picture the magnitude of the job. Glad you have it behind you. Now on to the holidays!

  • Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. --Ralph Waldo Emerson
