I cooked dinner tonight. Ordinarily that wouldn't be newsworthy but given the fact that I've gone an entire week without cooking, it merits mentioning.
We hadn't planned it that way....quite the opposite; I bought groceries with meals in mind but things changed. Wayne spent a long day caching in Mississippi with a friend so they ate dinner on the road and I did my own thing that night. We ran to Panera one evening for a quick bite with Dr. Dale and Carol and then there was Wayne's birthday dinner with Brad at the Five Sisters Blues Cafe. Our friends Tom and Durlene are wrapping up their time in our corner of the world so we drove down for one last evening with them and, of course, that involved a meal. And once a month the golf club hosts a little gathering for members that includes dinner...that was last night. Two different nights we dined on left-over gumbo; re-heating that certainly doesn't count as cooking but it sure was good. Before you know it a week had passed without a meal being actually prepared in our kitchen. Not that I'm complaining, you understand...we ate pretty good.
It's a new week and a new plan with healthy meals like salmon and a big salad on the agenda. It will be more work but I'm ready for it.
I have done this before too! You have a week of meals in your freezer ready to prepare and you get one made-then things happen just as you said and a week goes by and you think -wow-I haven't cooked once! It is rather pleasant to have a break like that-I cook almost every meal-we do not go out much at all-so when it happens it is a nice break.my hubby likes my cooking the best so I should be pleased...

Life happens to us like that too, sometimes. This week we tried to be good, but most of the meals were quick, not something I would say were much "cooking". Oh well!
