Kayla is into cupcakes...but then they're a very trendy thing to be into right now. They're cute, they're little and you can indulge your sweet tooth without too much guilt. When her dad took her shopping for her birthday last month, she purchased some cake decorating supplies as she so enjoyed what she had learned about it in her Health and Wellness class.
So when it came time to shop for Christmas presents for her, I thought she might enjoy some more baking supplies. I bought her a tin for mini cupcakes, some pretty liners in bright colors and patterns and a cupcake cookbook. I knew it was a hit when she sat right down and read through all the recipes, picking the Pink Lemonade ones as her first made-from-scratch cupcake adventure.
Tonight my phone buzzed and I looked over to find this photo:
It's the Pink Lemonade Cupcakes in the works. The texts flowed back and forth, reporting first that the batter was yummy and then that they looked great baking. It wasn't long before the next picture arrived.
Looks like a success story to me. The recipe included directions for Pink Lemonade icing too. And the best part?
Well, sampling your work. The report was they were really good. She must have enjoyed the experience as she's already picked out the next kind to try. I wonder if my budding baker will always coordinate her attire to match her recipe.
