I've been seeing some really cool scrapbooking classes and give-aways around the World Wide Web so I thought I'd call your attention to them in case they weren't on your lap around the Internet.
Becky Higgins has some cute quote cards available as a free download to celebrate Project Life's third birthday. (For any non-scrapbookers that are still reading Project Life is a year-long album documenting the everyday moments of family life.) The cards are available in both 2x3 and 4x6 sizes and in both vertical and horizontal. While they were designed with Project Life in mind, you could easily adapt them to regular layouts or turn them into greeting cards. You can find them here as well as a number of other free goodies from Becky.
Looking for inspiration for traditional two-page layouts? Then check out the new class Allison Davis is offering. Not only is she a wizard at designing eye-catching scrapbook pages that use lots of 4x6 photos, she's going to teach you how to use those cute little 6x6 paper pads to do it...and we know how much I love those little 6x6 paper pads. And even if you don't have any (yet!), the fundamentals she's teaching would apply to scraps too...and we all have those. Eleven sketches and eleven layout examples for $15 and you don't have to wait for a start date; it's available now. All the details are here.
What's that you say? You're a little insecure about mixings and matching patterns and colors on your scrapbook pages so your layouts aren't as hip and trendy as you'd like them to be? There's a class for that! Shimelle Laine will be starting Scrapbook Remix on October 22 and she's promising to teach you all about color (or colour in the Queen's language), pattern, scale, size and more. There are 20 full-color PDF's that show up in your email over the course of this four-week class plus videos, a class forum and more, all for $25. Besides all that, Shimelle is just fun. I can't link directly to her class but go to her blog and scroll down a few entries to the one on Scrapbook Remix.
Finally, there's the Cut It Out class being offered by Studio Calico and sponsored by Silhouette America. That's right...a class to get you and your personal cutting machine from out-of-the box (literally) to WOW! as fast as possible. Twenty layouts, exclusiving cutting files, tips from the likes of Ali Edwards and Kerri Bradford plus a $10 card for use in the Silhouette Store are included in the $29 price. You can see the rest of the talented contributors and get more information on the class here. Class starts November 1 but the last day to register is October 31. This link will take you to the blog hop promoting the class where you can register to win a free seat in the class (or a refund if you've enrolled) as well as some other fabulous prizes. We can sit together. That's right...Mama has a new toy and needs to learn how to use it. My premier effort is not quite ready for a debut but give me a few days and I'll share.
Reward yourself...you deserve it. Now is the perfect time for a class, before all the craziness of the holidays descends down upon us. None of these require a long commitment or a huge sum of money, and learning something new is good for your brain cells and your creativity. See you in class.
Congrats on your new toy! Look forward to "seeing" you in class Nov. 1st. I signed up last week and am excited for it to begin.

I signed up for the Studio Calico class yesterday. No machine for me yet - I'm debating between the Cameo and the soon to be released Portrait. The Cameo bundle at Studio Calico may just win out. Would love to hear your review, Brenda. Easy to set up? Easy to use?

I'm signed up for Shimelle's one (had a fab time doing "Learn Something New" through September). I've only got half way through a Silhouette class from Jessica Sprague, so I'd better finish that one rather than signing up for the Studio Calico one (but I'm tempted - what a great lot of designers they've got!).
