I'm a creature of habit...I'll admit it. Certain things get done on certain days. Some might say that's boring but I like it that way. It fits well with the left side of my brain. Besides, spontaneity is overrated.
So I'm struggling a little at this time of year when routine goes out the window. There's all those extra holiday chores to squeeze into the mix and, frankly, they've not fit in so well. Those habits I'm so used to have taken a hit.
For instance, I did Monday's housecleaning on Tuesday. I'm planning on doing Saturday's grocery shopping on Friday. Monday's ironing got done on Wednesday and next Tuesday's presents will hopefully be wrapped on Thursday. See? The routine is in chaos.
I'm looking at the bright side of it though. If the world ends on Friday as some predict, I won't need to know what day it is anyway.
And try adding a brand new grandson into that mix...the routine no longer exists. It is all worthwhile for those few minutes of bliss, when it is finally my turn, full of wonder, to hold this delightful new addition
! I am so glad the world did not, afterall, end on Friday!
