There hasn't been much sun in the Sunshine State these past few days. Well, at least in our part of Florida anyway and I'll confess I'm growing wearing of the gunmetal skies. It was on-again off-again rain for the second day in a row with another on tap for tomorrow. The only saving grace is it's warm...it could be worse.
And as I sat at my computer this afternoon, I found my eyelids growing heavier and heavier. The dreary weather had something to do with it, I'm sure, but the fact that it was Tuesday had a lot to do with it. Tuesday is a big day at the gym for with with yoga, strength class and then the treadmill. I often wish the classes were reversed with the yoga coming after the weight workout but then I'd probably fall asleep in the relaxation part at the end if that were to happen.
We worked hard in both classes today. Weights in yoga. Lots of squats and lunges in both yoga and strength. And then there's the treadmill. I like the challenge but I'm spent when I get home. And because the weights are pretty new to me, I'm sore too so the Advil bottle is the first stop once I get home.
The combination of dark skies, a tired body and the muscle relaxing powers of Advil made the couch more than I could resist and before I knew it I was off to the Land of Nod. I rarely ever nap but it sure felt good today to stretch out and let the soft sounds of rain falling lull me to sleep. And it wasn't some fifteen-minute power nap either; I slept for over an hour. The good news is that thanks to that nap I didn't fall asleep on that same couch after the late news was over...my usual Tuesday night routine.
Surely the sunshine will be back soon and this won't become a regular habit. But if it does, I'm getting me a T-shirt with this on the front:
The sentiment was certainly fitting today.
Aw... I'd get the T Shirt anyway! ;-) How cute is that? Jude.x

I may not have the opportunity during the week, but I always pencil a nap in on the weekend.
Good for you on the weight training! It's a great add to your workout routine.

I have been succumbing to the force of the grey skies and too long workdays and too short nights lately also. A little sunshine and blue skies would go a long way towards rectifying that. Looks like we may see that today....albeit with temps hovering in the 20's or low 30's!
