Despite the fact that we live in the part of the country where football is king, I'm not a fan. Oh, I can tolerate a good college game now and then but I think it's mostly because of the tradition and school loyalties. Yes, I know...there are traditions and loyalties associated with the NFL too but they just don't draw me in. Super Bowl, therefore, holds no charm for me.
The commercials, however, do. Not enought to watch the game but I do enjoy the fact that there are so many new and different ones hitting the television screen all at once. And given the price of ad time during the game, those Madison Avenue gurus have to have their thinking caps on to come up with clever and creative ways to get their messages across. Everyone wants to be the commercial talked about around the water cooler on Monday morning.
Budweiser is getting the jump on the competition by releasing one of its ads early and in my book it's a winner. Of couse, when you pair a seven-day-old Clydesdale with a story of lasting friendship, it's hard to go wrong. It starts with "awww" and ends with a sniff...but you can judge for yourself.
Let's see who can top that one.
Awwww.... Sniff! :-) Jude.x
