I love Thursdays. The housework that defines the early part of the week is over and done and there's the promise of the weekend just around the corner. And today was particular good as Thursdays go.
It started with yoga and then my miles on the treadmill. I've cranked up the elevation over time to where it's a real workout now by 10:15 am on Thursday morning, I've worked up quite a sweat. As I stepped off the treadmill this morning, a woman on one of the stationary bikes asked if I was done. When I said that I was, her response was "Good! Now you can feel noble for the rest of the day, knowing that you've done something good for yourself." Noble, huh. I never thought of it those terms but I like her thinking. I tried to live up to her recommendation.
And it's Pi Day. You know pi...the ratio of a circle's circumference to it's diameter or 3.14. March 14. Get it? And how do you celebrate Pi Day? With pie, of course. Well, If you're a geocacher like my favorite guy, you celebrate it with a geocaching get-together where everyone brings pie. I got the benefit of that on two fronts: I didn't have to cook dinner and he brought home a piece of pie for me.
And I enjoyed that piece of pie while flipping through the latest issue of Cooking Light which arrived in my mailbox today. Yes, I realize that there's a contradiction there between eating pie and reading Cooking Light but I enjoyed them both. All those cherries, blueberries and raspberries in that mixed berry pie had to be healthy, right? I'm excited to have a whole host of new recipes to try out in the coming weeks.
Add in the fact that Thursday night is filled with my favorite television shows and an already good day is put over the top. I watch maybe one show per night most nights but on Thursdays, there are five that I like. Good think we have a Hopper so I can DVR to help me out. I usually watch Project Runway and record Glee, Persons of Interest, The First 48 and After the First 48. I put up with the drama of Project Runway because I love to see the creative process the designers go through in constructing their garments. I don't always agree with the judges but it's different and interesting, even when it's a little stupid like tonight's episode. What can I say...from true-crime murder to song-and-dance, my interests run the gamut.
Ah, Thursday...you've been good to me. I really hate to see you come to an end. Same time next week?
So glad I have PR on my DVR, because watching those male strippers promenade in those ridiculous clothes the designers made is good for a laugh over and over and over again. omg, I've never seen such a huge FAIL as I did on that last episode. A classic.
