Around here we're celebrating the second day without rain, a record for this summer. Turns out it was premature thanks to a steady downpour about 8pm. Some of the flowers are happy while others are simply drowning. And the weeds! I can't keep up.
Around here I'm bracing myself for the end of peach season which is essentially upon us. There are only a couple left in the fridge and lunches just won't be the same without a bowl of juicy goodness. And there's about the same amount left in the freezer, Wayne's preferred method of peach-consumption. There's still plenty of fresh produce to make a delicious meal, however. Tonight's fare was asparagus, portobello mushrooms and chicken breast in all their grilled glory.
Around here Wayne is participating in a challenge to find a geocache every day in August. So far, so good. And he ends most days with a computer chat with his dad...just a chance to connect and see what's happening in each other's world.
Around here I'm fitting in a little time here and there to work on a Shutterfly book of stories for one member of the family tree. Yes...it takes caffeine-free Diet Coke and a little bit of chocolate to be creative. Didn't you know that? And washing and folding towels seems like a never-ending task. Such is the joy of summer...around here.
