Up at 4:15am; Wayne was whistling and said he slept surprisingly well.
To be at the hospital by 5:30am; too dark to see the heavy layer of frost the night's cold temperatures laid on the landscape.
For surgery scheduled at 7:30am; Wayne's hairy legs are now silky smooth.
Which finished at 12:30pm; time went faster with good friends at my side.
Out of recovery at 2:30pm; it's nice to have space to spread out as all the rooms at this hospital are now private rooms even though they originally held two patients.
PT in the room at 3:00pm; it wasn't long before he was sitting up on the edge of the bed, allbeit mostly straight-legged.
Cracking jokes with the nurses at 6:00pm; Wayne is bright and alert in between short naps and says he has less pain than he expected.
Headed home at 8:15pm; it's been a long day.
We're glad the surgery is over and done and grateful he came through it so well. We are blessed that so many are saying prayers and keeping us in their thoughts. The real steps to recovery start tomorrow.
