...it was Spring.
It's been a car-washing, yard mowing, throw-open-the-windows-and-air-out-the-house couple of days. Since daylight savings time arrived, it's like we lost an hour and gained a season and I love it! Today's high of 82 was twelve degrees above the normal temperature for this time of year but I figure that just makes up for all those days we had this winter that were well below average. It's going to moderate to more normal temperatures later in the week but we're enjoying this warm weather until then.
Wayne aerated the lawn then set the mower down a notch to pick up more oak leaves and dead grass, filling the bed of the truck before he was done. Judging by the line of vehicles at the dump when we pulled in this morning, we weren't the only ones doing spring clean-up this weekend.
And we stopped at Lowe's to buy fertilizer to encourage that green grass peeking through to show more of itself. It was busy there too but a lot of the activity was Lowe's employees hustling to get tables and shelves filled with colorful bedding plants. There were freezing temperatures just two weeks ago so everyone's a little unprepared for the sudden warmth.
We found time to celebrate Pi Day. Sun dried tomato/spinach pizza pie for dinner with mango/key lime pie for dessert. And we got a jump on St. Patrick's Day with corned beef and cabbage for dinner tonight as we'll eat out tomorrow evening. Meal planning is easier when there's a "holiday" meal on the schedule.
Life is busy...but we like it that way.
