It's been a mellow Mother's Day in our household. No cooking, conversations with our sons as well as Kayla, an all-around lazy Sunday.
Good thing as my body is making me aware of the fact that I asked it to do things it hasn't been doing...like playing golf. I'm ignoring the occasional aches and pains from muscles that got a different workout yesterday. It's confirmation that my resolve to get up and get moving I wrote about a few days ago is on the right track, and the afternoon walk helped limber things up.
Harder to ignore is the sunburn on the top of my feet. I've been wearing sandals for the past month or more when I work in the yard and I didn't think about needing sunscreen in a different spot when I put on my golf sandals. The straps don't line up quite the same, and I have two sunburned spots about the size of a quarter on the top of each foot. It's like having a pair of red eyes staring back when you look down at my feet.
So I'm headed for the aloe vera gel and some Advil before bed. Maybe it's all just the golf gods reminding me that staying off the course isn't necessarily a bad thing.
